Pips

A pip represents a single dot on the side of a dice. You may purchase pips with talent points in order to improve various formulas by increasing the number of dice that you may roll when using that formula.

The progression of pips are as follows:

Number of pipsBonus gained
1+1
2+2
31d6
41d6+1
51d6+2
62d6
72d6+1
82d6+2
93d6
103d6+1

If a formula already has a bonus, such as 2d6+1, then first pip would improve that formula to 2d6+2, and your second pip would improve it to 3d6.

Maximum Pips

When a formula may be improved via pips, there is a cap on the total number of pips you may increase the formula by. This number is Character Level + 2.

Example: A level 2 character takes a talent that has the following formula:

  • Attack Bonus + Dex + 2d6

This character may obtain no more than 4 pips in this formula, making the maximum formula for this character:

  • Attack Bonus + Dex + 3d6+1
