Idaten is an ascendant Sura of Earth, the youngest Sura of Earth, and the oldest ascendant Sura. Idaten is the Sura of Nature, the protector of the animal species, and without doubt the most accomplished naturalist in the galaxy, including the Devas. Idaten's ability to maintain his power and presence outside his domain is remarkable, an ability born out of ambition and used frequently in protection of habitat destruction and species extinction

Idaten has a strong bond with Kodhai and Atea, a relationship that humanoids would characterize as romantic

Idaten's pure elemental form is an elongated octahedron, and his humanoid elemental form is on the larger side. Idaten's preferred animal form is the Jaguar, but he is known to take many animal forms

Less frequenly, Idaten takes a humanoid form. In these cases, he typically chooses to appear as a male Nahuali or one of the feline races. In these forms he wears no clothing and has wild, grey or black unkempt fur, and piercingly blue eyes. His build is invariably large and muscular. He is often seen with a large book in hand, which is rumored to have vast information on every species in the galaxy
