Ghail sits on the eastern shore of Gerth, where the Gerth channel ends into the Thoir sea. Owing to its location, Ghail is the primary ports and trade hubs of Gerth. Goods flow from the eastern hemisphere into the heart of Gerth. Its location in the hemisphere also makes it the central hub of international trade. As such, its sprawling port moves a staggering amount of trade traffic

The city is situated on low cliffs, which have been carved away to accomodate the city. The channel splits into several smaller waterways and locks to transport the goods back down to sea level. The locks surround the city basin, the waterways winding through the city after descending through the locks. Large waterwheels along the cliff face power the locks

Near the ports, several long halls have been constructed and declared public domain. The halls are five stories tall, and each has a central chamber whose ceiling extends to the roof. Visitors can stay free of charge for up to three nights in the halls. Local taverns provide food service in the central chambers, which are lined with long bench seating.
