Syala is built on the coast of the gulf of the fox, on the western end of Eirah island. The city connects ships taking the southern trade route with precious stone and ore from Soro's mining operations. The ore comes down the Nakahi river from Refir which connects Soro and Syala

The bustling trading port uses water locks to load the heavy ore onto ships, relying on local hydromancers to lift the ore up into the ships. Aqueducts run throughout the city and are used to deliver goods down to the port. When shopping in the market, a myriad of tiny aqueducts will ferry your purchases directly from the market stall back to your ship

The city is also known for its fall festival celebrating the city's founding on the autumnal equinox
