======Timelines of terran history====== \\ ~~TOC~~ Terra was born 5.25 billion years after the beginning of the universe, 200 million years after the formation of its parent star, Sol. Almost 2 billion years would pass before the present day, but only the last 120 million years are recorded in Terran historical texts. Little is known to present day terrans about this prehistorical age The information below catalogues events known to present day Terra due to historical record, covering roughly 120 million years, starting with the information coded into the earliest Baumeni logographs, up to recent events. Terran historians usually divide their history into five ages, sometimes referred to as eras. Below you will find a description of each, along with a timeline for the major events of that age Terra's history covers everything from 6.98 billion years after the beginning of the universe to the present day, 7.1 billion years after the beginning of the universe. Present day terran historians consider the beginning of the timelines of terran historical ages#Age of Balance up through the present to be the "current era". Dates before this are marked as "BCE" for "before current era". Within the current era, dates in the first million years of the age of balance are often postfixed "FCE" for "first current era", while the second million years is marked "SCE" for second current era". The present day 1,483 years into the "third current era", commonly referred to as the third age \\ =====The stone age===== The first of Terra's ages, this is usually considered to extend into pre-history and include all the events from the planet's birth (5.25B) all the way through to the invention of iron (7.023B). This age is characterized by its lack of dense population centers and also its primitive technology. As the age progresses, populations started to grow and therefore interact, though such interaction was limited until much later in the age. Technology also progressed at a similar pace until the advent of the iron creation process, after which Terra would see a much more rapid progression of technological advances Towards the end of the age, as the human population on Aimsir started to grow, structured societies began to form, and competition over resources started to produce tension among humanity and also between humans and the Carragh. Once metal technology provided more advanced weaponry, the tension spilled over and fighting became common place, causing historians to mark this as the end of the stone age During this age the Baumeni and the Ulfar are confined to the northern continent of Saoirse and also have only limited interaction with each other during this age. The baumeni, content to tend to the Weisewald, did not venture out past its borders. The ulfar lived a very rustic life during this age, not bothering with agriculture or building structures until the very end of this age. They formed small to medium sized packs and engaged in a nomadic lifestyle, mostly hunting for food. Most of their free time was devoted to a ritualistic storytelling, developing a rich oral history over thousands of millennium Click on the image above to view the full size * **6.98B | 118M BCE**: Earliest stone records of baumeni logographs signify the end of pre-history * **117.6M BCE**: Earliest records of carragh cuneiform carved into stone * **117M BCE**: Earliest records of human written, phonographic language * **114M BCE**: Ulfar population reaches ten thousand * **111M BCE**: Baumeni population reaches five thousand * **108M BCE**: Human population reaches twenty thousand * **104M BCE**: Humans form first inter-tribal alliance * **102.1M BCE**: Carragh population reaches five thousand * **98.0M BCE**: Baumeni and Ulfar develop sustained diplomatic contact * **94.0M BCE**: Humans develop rudimentary agriculture * **88.0M BCE**: Limited, rudimentary road networks developed on Aimsir * **84.7M BCE**: Human population reaches fifty thousand * **82.0M BCE**: Human/Carragh interactions dramatically increase near the Sliabh Mountains * **80.3M BCE**: The invention of the wheel * **79.0M BCE**: The formation of Khan'Laheeri, terra's first kingdom, in the Mhor Canyon * **76.9M BCE**: Humans learn to harness fire * **76.0M BCE**: The kingdom of Dearth'Jhaa forms in present day Koraha's northern coast * **74.0M BCE**: Baumeni population reaches ten thousand * **73.3M BCE**: The formation of the Hito kingdom, in present day Fiadh * **73.3M BCE**: The formation of the Kalmar kingdom, in present day Yuanen's southernmost coast * **72.0M BCE**: The formation of the Kingdom of Shak'tar, on the eastern coast of present day Gerth * **71.5M BCE**: The formation of the Sehti Kingdom in the central plains of present day Yuanen * **69.0M BCE**: The formation of the Kingdom of Jhenee on the Kachua Bay * **66.4M BCE**: The formation of the Kingdom of Tael'Reshk, in the southern end of present day Reithe * **65.0M BCE**: The kingdoms of Hito, Kalmar, Jhenee, and Sehti enter into the Jhan'Ahkha'tar alliance * **61.2M BCE**: Human population reaches seventy five thousand * **61.0M BCE**: The kingdom of Tael'Reshk expands into the plains adjacent to their northern border * **59.5M BCE**: Invention of iron, end of the Stone Age \\ =====The iron age===== The Iron Age begins with the advent of iron in 59.5M BCE, and the increased production of weapons. Wars and invasions were common place and lasted for hundreds of thousands and even millions of years. Conquest and re-conquest were common. Late in the Iron age, the inhabitants of Terra discovered the ability to bind their will, their Ki, to the elements and their own bodies. They eventually learned to harness this power for war, and this ignited the Great War, in which every nation and every species eventually joined into a global war which lasted almost five million years. The aftermath was a patchwork of smaller kingdoms, the remnants of the empires that spawned them The Great War left the war machines temporarily disabled, and there was a brief period of relative peace as nations rebuilt their armies, recruited talented binders, and built elite fighting forces. The assassination of Kalmar's king in 33M BCE is generally agreed to be the end of the Iron Age as it ushered in a new era of war primarily fought by binders and support regiments Click the image above to see the full size version * **59.5M BCE**: The invention of iron signifies the end of the stone age * **58.6M BCE**: Dearth'Jhaa founds its first colony on Saoirse in present day Teagh * **57.7M BCE**: Tribunal of Akkaus unites the majority of the Ulfar under one banner * **56.9M BCE**: Akkaus develops shipbuilding * **56.5M BCE**: Shak'tar expands inland over the plains of Aimsir * **56.4M BCE**: Tael'Reshk expands north, clashes with the Shak'tar * **55.9M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri expansion through the Mhor canyon reaches the Sliabh Mountains * **55.4M BCE**: The Jhan'Ahkha'tar civil war breaks out between the Jhenee and the Sehti clans * **55.1M BCE**: Kalmar and Sehti form an alliance against the Jhenee * **54.9M BCE**: The Hito join the Kalmar and Sehti against the Jhenee * **54.3M BCE**: The Jhenee lose the Jhan'Ahkha'tar civil war, the Sehti'Ahkha'tar empire is formed * **53.5M BCE**: Tael'Reshk conquers Shak'tar * **52.1M BCE**: Akkaus forms first colonies in Aeye * **51.0M BCE**: Inauguration of the carragh#Tawa Sike and carragh#Jan Seli Carragh tribes * **50.2M BCE**: Akkaus cripples Dearth'Jhaa and occupies the remains of the kingdom * **49.2M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri establishes the city of Erenga * **47.5M BCE**: Kalmar invades the southern region of Tael'Reshk * **47.4M BCE**: The Salt Peace Accord is signed, halting the Kalmar invasion of Tael'Reshk * **46.2M BCE**: Akkaus founds its first colony on Naer, near present day Ciaro * **44.5M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri conquers present day Koraha * **41.8M BCE**: Elemental Ki bindings awaken on Terra * **41.0M BCE**: Kalmar invades Tael'Reshk, igniting the Great War * **40.9M BCE**: Akkaus invades Khan'Laheeri on the Korahan Coast * **40.8M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri and Tael'Reshk form the Aimsir Alliance * **39.9M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri makes an alliance with the Carragh tribes * **39.3M BCE**: Akkaus conquers the deserts of present day Koraha * **39.2M BCE**: Refugees flee the fighting and arrive on the isle of Inis, form the kingdom of Aru'taal * **38.9M BCE**: The Baumeni join the war against the Sehti'Ahkha'tar empire * **38.7M BCE**: The Sehti and the Kalmar engage in civil war * **37.8M BCE**: The fall of the Sehti'Ahkha'tar empire. Political deception and intrigue were a part of daily life and the ruling courts of the Terran kingdoms were heavily intertwined. There were, however, still some larger scale wars and conquest, though for any large scale assault it was necessary to have sufficient cause. The justifications for war varied from country to country, generally deemed by historians as little more than pretense for the ambition that still lingered from the Iron Age Kingdoms poured vast resources into grandiose projects of construction, culture, and public improvement. These projects were aimed at recruiting the most powerful ki binders in an attempt to hold on to power and to avoid being absorbed by a more powerful neighbor. Ultimately these practices would set the stage for the bloodiest period in Terran history Click the image above to see the full size * **33.0M BCE**: The assasination of the King of Kalmar signals the end of the Iron Age * **30.4M BCE**: Sehti'taal and Kalmar form the Jhua'nen Alliance * **29.7M BCE**: Akkaus founds the first colonies in present day Gael's north eastern coast * **27.1M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri and Kalmar engage in the Thousand Year War * **26.5M BCE**: Kingdom of Gherth'Jhaa is formed when the coastal regions of Reshk'tar secede * **24.4M BCE**: Kalmar founds colonies in present day Gael's western coast * **23.3M BCE**: Hito'Maru builds the Hitan Bulwark in the Faulan Pass * **22.6M BCE**: Kalmar conquests the entire continent of Gael, destroying all Akkau cities * **21.8M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri builds the Great Arch * **20.7M BCE**: Sehti'taal colonizes in the Aeye archipelago * **20.6M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri conquers the Korahan Coast * **19.9M BCE**: Kingdom of Kal'tael secedes from Kalmar * **19.8M BCE**: Aru'taal builds the Sole'tal Bridge * **18.6M BCE**: Hito'Maru completes construction of the Silken Path * **18.5M BCE**: Sehti'taal conquers Akkau cities in Aeye * **17.0M BCE**: Cnahk'tah is renamed Cnehk'tah by its new leadership * **15.9M BCE**: Hito'Maru colonizes present day Fjall * **15.8M BCE**: Baumeni plant the Birken and Birnaum sacred groves * **14.7M BCE**: Gherth'Jhaa builds the Gerth Waterwheels * **14.4M BCE**: Sehti'taal carves out the Aimsir Pass * **13.1M BCE**: Sehti'taal founds a colony on Craic * **12.6M BCE**: Kal'tael builds a massive navy * **11.4M BCE**: Sehti'taal builds the Salt Pillar * **10.0M BCE**: The Blood Wars begin, signaling the end of the Age of Honor \\ =====The age of blood===== The Age of Blood begins with two of the largest kingdoms entering into war when Kalmar declares war on Reshk'tar. Every kingdom on Terra would end up joining into several concurrent wars, including the Carragh and even the isolated Baumeni. These wars would rage on for eight million years, varying in intensity over time. Kingdoms rose and fell, alliances were made, and kingdoms were acquired Eventually, terra would become more or less divided into east and west, and the fighting would increase intensely, severely reducing the total popluation on Terra. For the first time, the natural birth rate would not increase fast enough to keep up with the death toll. Eventually, Jhau'nen and Reishk'tar, the two main combatants, would lose their appetite for war and the Council of Ceilidh would be held, also known as the Council of Seven, in which a peace agreement would be reached which persists to the present day Click on the image above for the full size * **10.0M BCE**: Kalmar declares war on Reshk'tar, beginning the Age of Blood * **9.5M BCE**: carragh#Jan Sona clan emerges and founds the city of Gaineamh * **9.2M BCE**: Sliabh Federation of Carragh Tribes is declared at the stone council * **8.8M BCE**: Nae'eri declares independence from the Sehti'taal empire * **8.4M BCE**: Akkaus declares war on Aru'taal * **7.9M BCE**: carragh#Lili Mute, a new Carragh tribe, is born * **7.8M BCE**: carragh#Lili Mute allies with Reshk'tar against the Sehti'taal * **7.75M BCE**: Reishk'tar Empire formed after Reshk'tar defeats Kalmar east of the Sliabh Mountains * **7.6M BCE**: Cnehk'tah joins Gherth'Jhaa to form a new kingdom, Gherth'tah * **7.3M BCE**: Sehti'taal absorbs Kalmar's remaining territory and Jhua'nen is established * **6.9M BCE**: Jhua'nen conquers Hito'Maru * **6.7M BCE**: Fjall declares independence from Hito'Maru and Jhua'nen * **6.5M BCE**: Khan'Laheeri is conquered by the Akkau * **5.9M BCE**: Nae'eri falls to Jhua'nen conquest * **5.8M BCE**: Kal'tael cataclysm * **5.1M BCE**: Reishk'tar formally declares war on Jhua'nen * **4.65M BCE**: Jhua'nen conquers Akkaus, scattering the Ulfar across the northern hemisphere * **4.64M BCE**: Saor provides safe haven for a portion of the Ulfar * **4.2M BCE**: Gherth'tah and Reishk'tar form the Aimsir Alliance * **3.8M BCE**: Aru'taal joins the Aimsir Alliance * **3.2M BCE**: Saor removes Jhua'nen colonies and cities from Saoirse * **2.8M BCE**: Kilig is declared by Saor to be an independent nation * **2.0M BCE**: Council of Ceilidh ushers in the Age of Balance \\ =====The age of balance===== Terran historians regard the Council of Seven, also known as the Council of Ceilidh, to be the event that ushered in the modern era, also known as the current era. The modern era is often broken up into three ages, corresponding to the first and second million years in the "Age of Balance". The present day falls 1,483 years into the third million years, also known as the Third Age The council was held at Ceilidh, within the kingdom of Reishk'tar which at the time was a smaller fishing town, known for its nearby resort, home to simple but sprawling bathhouses. One of the larger bathhouses was viewed as a suitable location as most of the great halls had been destroyed in the fighting, and Ceilidh had remained neutral during the wars of the Age of Blood The council established an agreement to refrain from conquest and invasion of another kingdom's territory, outlining the borders for the seven involved territories. Additionally, as a gesture towards real peace, the nations changed their names, dropping their apostrophes and kingdom titles. Additionally, the ancient kingdom names were modernized to be more timely, linguistically. Reishk'tar became Reithe, Jhua'nen became Yuanen, Aru'taal became Arutal, and Gerth'tah became Gerth. Saor's name remained unchanged, as did the recently formed Kilig. At this time, Naer, Gael, Koraha, and Teagh were undeveloped, spotted with half destroyed cities. Khan'Laheeri, Kal'tael, Nae'eri, Hito, and Akkaus did not survive the Age of Blood. The Akkau were dispersed and would take to nomadic lifestyles. Nae'eri was completely destroyed and abandoned. Kal'tael and the continent upon which it rested was rent asunder, eventually the survivors would reestablish this nation as Gael, only to be destroyed again before the present day Gael was formed on the broken continent. Hito would eventually go on to declare independence from Yuanen under the name Fiadh. Khan'Laheeri was completely wiped out and it is unknown if any of its people survived its destruction. All this would happen within the "First Age" of balance \\ ==== First age ==== The first million years after the Council of Ceilidh, the first age of the modern era * **2M BCE**: Council of Ceilidh *
