Soledad is built on the northwestern corner of [[Mothira Island]], the southern Isle of [[Liath]]. Soledad is considered to be a sister city to [[Arutal]], which is built on the opposite side of the [[Bay of Siochana]] on [[Mahi Island]], the northern island of [[Liath]]. Long ago, these two cities were connected via the [[Sole'tal Bridge]], a massive stonework bridge. At that time, both cities were considered [[Arutal]], and when the bridge was destroyed, the southern half of the city was renamed to 'Soledad'

Soledad is the only permanent city on [[Mothira Island]]. The city serves as a staging post for the frequent expeditions that head out into the vast wilderness of the island. The island has a community of small nomadic tribes which periodically bring in valuable and rare trade goods to the city. These goods have given the city's markets a unique reputation, making the city a destination for trade ships making their way around eastern [[Aimsir]]

The city's architecture is similar to [[Arutal]], remaining relatively unchanged over the years following the destruction of the [[Sole'tal Bridge]]. The city cherishes its ancient connection to its larger neighbor, and in recent years, efforts to reconstruct the bridge have begun
