They Manitari are unique among the humanoids of the galaxy in that while they appear to have a normal humanoid shaped body, this body is made up of soil and stone. The Manitar extends itself through this soil like a nervous system, controlling its "limbs" as if it were its own body. These creatures can be found throughout the galaxy in all types of climates

==== Physical description ====
Standing a little shorter than an average [[humans|Human]], the Manitari have bodies made of soil and skeletons of stone, some of which protrudes out from the surface. These inanimate bodies are controlled by a nervous system of fungal veins which permeate the soil body. They have long arms and slightly shorter legs, and lean forward, sometimes ambling on all fours. Upon the backs the fungal roots extend up out of the soil and grow into mushrooms, which are also bioluminescent. Their heads consist of fungal matter, and resemble a mask with two eyes and a small, round mouth. Their voices have a hollow, whistling quality. Their face is not capable of expression, but their irises and pupils are capable of quickly contracting and expanding, which they can control to convey emotion. Their heads sweep backwards on the top, turning into "gills" which are used for their sense of smell

Manitari have no collective personality, ambitions, or political alliances that would garner any solid galactic reputation, and impressions the Manitari vary wildly across the galaxy
