Khandahara is less a city than it is a large research outpost constructed adjacent to an extensive and well preserved set of ruins. The ruins are the long abandoned ruins of an unamed city of the ancient [[Ulfar]] kingdom of [[Akkaus]]. This research outpost was originally founded by [[Baumeni]] historians but has grown to include citizens from across terra as the ruins provide the oldest known standing structures on the planet

The ruins include an extensive above ground city, mostly one and two story stone structures. Below this is an extensive network of tunnels and rooms that sprawl out below the majority of the city. In the center of the city is an underground amplitheater. There are several theories about the layout of the city, but the leading theory explains the tunnel system as an elaborate hibernation support system, though this theory is not popular among present day Ulfar
