Kanze is an ascendant [[ki spirits#sura]] of fire. Ascending after [[Idaten]] and [[Aruna]], Kanze is the third humanoid to transcend death to become a sura. Kanze is the sura of light, compassion, and friendship. Kanze has a temple in the [[galaxy:Rhonotai]] star system, to which pilgrims from across the galaxy travel to gain the ear of the ki spirits. Kanze has spent millenia developing superior intellect, allowing sustained presence at the temple. Kanze listens to any who come to the temple, and takes their concerns to the other sura, if deemed appropriate. Impatient sura will often direct humanoids the do not wish to deal with to Kanze's temple

Kanze's primary form of interaction with humanoids is at the temple. Despite the fact that Kanze was a human female before ascending, Kanze associates with neither gender, taking male, female, and lynx forms interchangeably. Despite this, many humanoids associate Kanze with the female gender. Kanze's human forms are young adults with dark skin, black hair, and black eyes. Kanze dislikes clothing and will often manifest without it, though simple robes of grey cloth are kept on hand at the temple
