==== Bear ====
**Description**: These large diurnal mammals usually live in isolation, except when mating and raising young, which is done by both genders. Bears have shaggy fur, powerful builds, and an awkward gait. Their canines are overdeveloped, giving them a savage appearance, causing them to feature heavily in myth, legend, and art. Despite their clumsy gait, they are excellent runners and climbers. Due to their power and speed, domesticated bears are used as mounts in the country of [[Teagh]]\\

==== Behemoth spider ====
**Description**: These creatures are an anomaly in the animal kingdom. They are anatomically similar to typical spiders, with the addition of sharp pincers adjacent to the mouth and serrated claws on the third, fourth, fifth and sixth, legs. The Behemoth Spider uses pneumatic pressure to move its limbs, which produces an eerie and unnatural sound. Due to this pneumatic system, a punctured abdomen causes the legs to malfunction. The abdomen is protected on the underside by a exoskeletal plate. Behemoth spiders can attack with all 8 of their legs in a single round if facing targets on both sides\\

**Description**: Large quadrapedal mammals with hooves and tusks, they are more aggressive than their smaller cousins. Their coloring is usually darker, with the exception of the silver haired boars in the [[Flaithiuil Forest]]\\

**Description**: These large mammals belong to the bovine family. They have four hooved feet, close cropped fur over the majority of the body, and a darker, shaggy, curly mane around the head. They travel in large herds when wild, and are domesticated, primarily for their milk and fur\\

**Description**: This large, nocturnal octopus is capable of crushing small sailing ships with its tentacles. They have the ability to change their pigmentation for camouflage. Their tentacles are also venomous and lethally so. They also produce an ink which they use to cloud the water and escape, which can cover an area with a 30 foot radius\\

**Description**: These small flying insects will often group into swarms in defense of their hive. They feed on nectar from local flowering flora, and their sting delivers a paralytic toxin. A single sting from a bee can partially paralyze a human for roughly 2 hours. Bumblebees are covered in black hair with swaths of an alternate color which varies by colony and ranges in bright reds, yellows, oranges, and purples\\

==== Camel ====
**Description**: These tall mammals are known for their long necks, extreme endurance, and their ability to store water within their humps, of which they have one to three, depending on the species. Camels also possess the ability to empty their water reserves through a constricting valve under the abdomen. It is for this reason that camels are often used as mounts for [[hydromancer|Hydromancers]], and are trained to release their reserves when needed. (The water can not be bound when inside the camel's stomach). Camels can store up to 100 gallons at a time, and can drink up to 50 gallons in a single sitting, in about 3 minutes\\

**Description**: A domesticated version of larger cats, this creature is ubiquitous across terra, with over 70 distinct sub-species variations\\

**Description**: These reptiles have the special ability to quickly change the color of their skin to match their environment and to send social signals, though their skin is black by default. They range in size depending on environment and food sources (Stats for larger chameleon in parentheses). They have opposable thumbs on all four of their appendages and a prehensile tail. Chameleons will flash their skin bright red with white streaks in random patterns to warn off predators. A chameleon's tongue lash delivers a moderately potent sedative. **Description**: These freshwater fowl are common across Terra and have several variants. Their coloring varies but is never bright in color. Brilliant greens, blues, and purples and reds are common within the plumage, though yellows and oranges do exist. Ducks are rarely domesticated, though are raised for eggs and their feathers for down. Ducks are thought to be unclean and are often viewed as pests. Duck meat is considered unclean and rarely consumed\\

**Description**: Large, solitary aquatic creatures with no appendages and smooth skin. Eels are capable of generating an electric shock to stun its prey. They burrow into the sides of the ocean floor for shelter\\

**Description**: These smaller birds of prey are extremely fast and are often used as hunting companions and scouts, though they are less commonly used in combat due to their smaller size. Their colorings are usually a melange of browns and greys, with dark colored eyes and lighter colored beaks. In the wild, falcons travel in small packs. On account of their size, falcons have the ability to hover for short periods. While their overall visual acuity is not quite as good as other birds of prey, the falcon has additional color receptors allowing it to see ultraviolet light, polarised light, and magnetic fields\\

==== Fox ====
**Description**: Canine mammals with a sharp nose and upright ears. Quadrupedal, omnivores, and very cunning. Their fur markings are typically solid color and come in many varieties, though a burnt red color is the most common\\
**Lifespan**: Typically 3 years, up to 12 years\\
**Size**: Adults range between 5 and 20 lb, 1 to 2 feet in height\\

**Description**: These larger flies are not truly flies as they have two sets of wings. They are also much larger than a typical fly. They seek out rotting flesh or wounds in which to lay their eggs. **Description**: Fierce predators of the sea, sharks have multiple methods of hunting their prey. First, they hear their prey from up to several miles away. Second, they detect their prey using scent, detecting blood in the water up to a quarter mile away. As they come in closer, they close their eyes, using their ability to detect vibrations in the water.
